Best view

Three contenders, each a different mood:

• Piazza Belvedere in Potenza Picena, our own hilltop square. An early evening passeggiata, then dinner al fresco at Le Scalette or a beer and live music at Groove. Just five minutes from us, the easiest “best of” on the list.
• The terrace of the basilica in Loreto at sunset, looking south across the Conero hills to the Sibillini mountains. On a clear day you can see the whole spine of central Italy.
• The Monte Conero clifftops at Passo del Lupo, wild Adriatic views straight down to the sea, at their best near sunset.
