Drive inland to the Frasassi Caves (about 1h15). One of Europe’s largest cave systems, cool, spectacular, entirely indoors. Pair with the Tempio del Valadier. Alternatives: the underground tunnels beneath Osimo, or the Buonaccorsi Museum in Macerata.
